What is dry eye? Normally, your eye has a certain amount of oils on its surface. This ‘tear film’ oil protects and maintains the healthy moistness around your eye, keeping it comfortable and clean. As we age, encounter sun, wind or smoke, wear contacts or use the computer too much, this oily eye surface becomes patchy, causing redness, blurry vision that clears with blinking or itching, burning, sensitive eyes.
