We spent a lot of time on the phone with the fisherman of this line of clean salmon and tuna products, and if ever there was a man who personified the expression ‘Quality, rather than quantity’ it is this fisherman. Known in the northwest for the superb standard of his fish and the way he handles them, PureZing is thrilled to tell you about this incredible product.

We were bowled over by his smoked salmon! Most of us know smoked salmon as dry cured chunks, or expensive, paper-thin slivers from Scotland. Not that there is anything wrong with those, but now you have an amazing third choice.

This salmon is 5.5-ounces of alderwood smoked salmon, cooked in its own juices in the can. When you open the can, you see solid pieces of salmon filling the space, with juice around it. The fish comes out of the can cleanly and can be put on a plate without falling apart.

When you put a fork in it, it flakes, and putting it into your mouth, you find that it is incredibly moist! This is not the usual smoked salmon experience. This is positively dripping in moistness, and yet, the salmon is not mushy.

Cured in brown sugar, spices and salt, this is smoked with natural alderwood and does not contain any preservatives. The salmon is firm, but juicy. The flavor is mild, but rich. The texture is mouthwatering and amazing: it seems to melt in your mouth!

We oohed and aahed over our small taste test straight from the can and managed to save enough for a special concoction. Adding some capers, and thinly sliced green onion, we had a bagel with cream cheese…and this unbelievably moist, totally decadent and flavorful smoked salmon piled on top.

Forget that this comes from a can. The can just happens to be the vehicle that gets some of the best smoked salmon that you will ever taste…straight to you. Mild, moist, clean, beautifully handled, you may never go back to dry and expensive smoked salmon again!
