I opened the Pure Zing office door to see three grown-up’s and two zaney cats on the floor batting cat toys around. I had evidently walked in on the toy chasing scene. Have no fear; it was the official Pure Zing cat team of Splunker and his kitten sister Frizzie doing aerobatic leaps and turns in pursuit of these heathery organic wool balls.
These handcrafted balls are brown and white and while soft to the touch, the whole ball is firm as it is pressed wool, not knit. We had the MEDIUM BALL, at two inches and the LARGER BALL approaching three inches in diameter and they were light enough for both cats to sink their claws into and bat around.
All organic wool is best as there is absolutely no chemical or pesticide residue in them! The toys are machine washable and can be tossed in the drier according to instructions included with each ball.
It’s important to note, no harsh chemical washes or dyes are used in the making of these toys: the balls have been cleaned with gentle toxin-free soap and smell quite fresh. The animals though, smell the subtle wool scent, and for some, it makes the toy even more fun.
Give them a shake or two (or if you’re a feline: a good thrashing!) and you can hear the bell which is tucked safely deep inside three of the four balls all natural fiber cores.
