PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Addressing a much under-played but growing health concern in the U.S., this small sleekly designed hand-held detector, monitors your living and working environment for “electrosmog”, emitting audible digital chatter (buzzes and screeches increasing in intensity) when wireless radiation is detected.

The most common sources of wireless electrosmog are:

  • Cordless phones
  • Cordless baby alarms
  • Mobile/cellular phone masts/towers/transmitters
  • Mobile/cellular phones
  • Wireless networks

The detector’s manufacturer highlights that the product is not a warning device or alarm. It provides an indication of the presence of wireless electrosmog starting at the point at which science suggests that health effects begin to appear in the general population. The manufacturer urges that bedrooms in particular be electrosmog-free – a good night’s sleep being an essential component of good health.

While electrosmog’s contribution to health issues remains widely debated, there is mounting concern. The U.K.’s Health Protection Agency in November 2005 commissioned a report and literature compilation on the subject. In Germany, more than 37,000 residents called in the “Freiburger Appeal” for government action on electrosmog health issues.

Company Profile:

Sensory Perspective Ltd.

The company was formed in 2003, out of 22 year-old radiation specialists Perspective Scientific Ltd, to reach a global mass-consumer marketplace. The company designs, patents and markets electromagnetic radiation detection devices, as well as products to protect people from the health effects of electromagnetic pollution (electrosmog). Notably, the company Chairman, Brian Stein, is one of the 3-5% of the world’s population that is acutely electrosensitive (ES).

Alasdair Philips, designer of the Electrosmog detector, is also Director of Powerwatch, a world-renowned watchdog of the mobile phone and power distribution industry, and one of the leading EMF health effects lobbyists in the world.

What makes this product Eco-Cool?

  • Those who believe that our bodies are best suited to exist in the pristine non-manmade EMF world that our ancestors evolved in will find this device a very useful tool for identifying focal points of exposure.

  • For those diagnosed with electrosensitivty (ES) - some 3% and 5% of the general population - or those believe they may be E-sensitive, this is a useful diagnostic tool. Working with your doctor, the device could give valuable information regarding ES’s potential role in: high blood pressure, behavioral issues with children, chronic fatigue and other ailments.

  • For those concerned, the device allows users to gain an impression of their wireless environment and undertake prudent avoidance measures as they deem necessary. Various forms of shielding solutions can be purchased.

Certifications, Official ratings

  • Tested in FCC and EMC certified labs (Cambridge, UK).

  • CE accredited in 2005, the product conforms to EN 61000-6-3: 2001 (emissions standard) and EN 61000-6-1: 2001 (immunity standard).

Note: Electrosmog refers to the invisible electromagnetic radiation resulting from the use of both wireless technology and electricity.
