Teriyaki Marinade and Sauce
Melanie's Fine Foods

Mmmm! This is a rich and hearty marinade and sauce that will really enhance meats, rice, noodles, vegetables, and even sushi! The ingredients are soy sauce, water, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, wine, ginger powder, orange peel, spices, xanthan gum and salt.

The flavor is decidedly soy sauce, but there are delightful notes of ginger and little bits of orange peel that give it lift and interest…and the wine gives it a depth and contributes to the flavor complexity. The sauce is just a little thicker than soy sauce and would glaze and marinate turkey, ribs, steaks, poultry and fish to perfection.

We were intrigued that we could use this marinade in the Alder Smoker Bag for the Oven and Grill. What a great flavor combination: the teriyaki, wild salmon, and just the right amount of smoky complexity! The recipe is called Smoky Teriyaki Salmon and Asparagus Spears and is simplicity itself: marinate the salmon in this rich and delicious sauce and then put the fish and asparagus in the bag. That’s it!

Our whole team tried this on rice, as well as a dipping sauce for sushi, and what a difference a little complexity makes! Rich and Asian like soy sauce, but with a little texture and a lot of flavor depth, your Asian-style recipes will sing with substituting this product versus regular soy sauce!

A hefty 14-ounce tall bottle will last you a long time and you’ll love that it’s all natural, fat-free and with no preservatives. Robust but not heavy and overpowering, give this Teriyaki marinade, glaze and dipping sauce a try!
