BASIL AND BEER QUICK BREAD

Basil & Beer Quick BreadCourtesy of PureZing

INGREDIENTS:

1 Tablespoon butter
3 cups self-rising flour
3 Tablespoons sugar
½ cup chopped fresh basil
1 ½ cups warm beer

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Liberally grease a 9 x 5 x 3 loaf pan with butter.

Mix the flour and sugar in a large bowl. Add the basil, mix well. Add the beer and blend thoroughly.

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake 50 minutes. Test in the middle with a toothpick. Put bread on a rack and cool.

Slice thinly to serve. Also good toasted and sprinkled with freshly grated Parmesan.
