Berries, new potatoes, fresh herbs, steamed vegetables, poached fresh fish…all harbingers of Spring!
 
After the heartier meals of winter, its time to put away the heavier foods and revel in the lightness and fresh flavors that Spring brings to us.
 
Try some light broth with flecks of fresh herbs and tiny orzo pasta.  How about steaming new potatoes and dusting them with sea salt and a squeeze of lemon butter?  Nothing is more reminiscent of spring than tender asparagus: lightly grilled and dipped into a freshly made aioli…and of course, fresh trout, right out of the stream is a delicacy that needs little embellishment.
 
Keep it simple, keep it fresh and keep it natural and organic.  Spring has never tasted so good!  Zing!

 

Prolong your grilling season by getting out to the beach and building a bonfire this Spring! Be sure to bring lots of blankets and hot chocolate, and you'll be able to make the most of the outdoor grilling experience!

How about the first hot dogs of the season on a fire while you watch the sunset?  Take a kite and revel in the spring breezes, along with the intoxicating aroma of food cooked outdoors.

Before the heat of summer sets in, celebrate spring by packing a small hibachi or grill and breathing in the fresh air and view at a scenic spot nearby.  Go by canoe or kayak or open the car windows as you drive to the mountains or the shore.
 
Take your fishing pole and catch some trout.  All you need is real butter and some fresh herbs for a memorable meal! 

Collect medium stones at the beach or at the edge of a lake and create a small fire pit. If there is no dry wood available, bring a few pressed logs with you and use them.

An old barbeque rack resting on the stones over the fire is the perfect place for foil packages of marinated fish or chicken, foil wrapped garlic bread or a pot of chili.
