The oval shape of this jar is a good design as it is easier to hold onto and open the lid when your hands are wet in the shower. A shiny black top on a clear plastic jar, sits above a label with elegant, stylized black curly-cues and lets me know that the fragrance is Lavender Grapefruit. MMMmmmm! The subtle Zing of clean, citrusy grapefruit mixed with the fresh calm of Lavender: it’s a lovely combination and smells rich and full without any sharpness.
The ingredients are Pure and beneficial: premium sea salt, Dead Sea salt, Apricot Kernel oil, Avocado oil and pure essential oils. The texture is an abundance of fine salt, generously packed into this 12-ounce jar, with a nice puddle of essential oils sitting enticingly on top.
I reach in and scoop out a generous handful…and still see the puddle. It’s like squeezing a fresh, juicy grapefruit…there’s always more juice.
The salts have enough grain to really scrub and I find myself reaching into the jar several times to exfoliate all the areas that I want to soften. The fragrance is lovely and as I rinse, the oils get distributed all over me so that I do not have areas that are too oily, or too dry. The salt is gone, but the fragranced oils remain and I carefully pat dry to maintain them on my skin.
This scrub could be used before getting into a steaming tub. Scrub and then immerse yourself, letting the salts melt…and soak up the healing and soothing benefits of the minerals and oils in languorous, fragranced peace.
The subtle aroma is still on my skin after an hour: lovely classic lavender…with just the barest hint of juicy grapefruit. This is a lovely summery type of fragrance and will banish any dryness from too much sun or chlorine…or it will bring pleasant memories of summer to a dark winter day.
